1. Introduction

Hebit ("we" or "the app") operates the Hebit mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our app.

By using Hebit, you agree to the information collection and usage practices described in this Privacy Policy.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Account and Profile Information

When you create an account and complete the initial setup, we collect the following information:

• First name, last name, and email address

• Age and gender

• Height and weight (with unit preferences)

• Target weight and fitness goals

• Sleep preferences (chronotype, sleep duration goal, sleep quality preference, sleep onset preference)

• Activity preferences (activity level, workout frequency, experience level, workout location, preferred workout types, workout duration preference)

• Nutrition goal preference and calculated calorie/macro targets

• Language and notification preferences

2.2 Nutrition Data

• Logged meals (name, type, timestamp, portion size)

• Calorie and macronutrient breakdown (protein, carbohydrates, fat, fiber)

• Micronutrient data (Vitamin A, Vitamin C, calcium, iron, potassium, sodium)

• Food photos taken from camera or gallery

• Water intake records

• Weight tracking records and history

• Daily, weekly, and monthly nutrition summaries

2.3 Sleep Data

• Sleep sessions (bedtime, wake time, total duration)

• Sleep stage distribution (awake, REM, light sleep, deep sleep — duration and percentage)

• Sleep confidence scores and movement events

• Wake-up timestamps during sleep

• Sleep consistency and bedtime distribution analysis

2.4 Sleep Audio Recordings

During sleep tracking sessions, the app may record ambient sounds for snoring detection. These recordings include:

• Audio files recorded throughout the sleep session

• Audio analysis data (average and peak decibel levels, detected events such as snoring)

Audio recordings are stored securely in your account. We do not access, listen to, or share your audio recordings. You can delete individual audio clips or your entire sleep history at any time.

2.5 Activity and Exercise Data

• Activity records (activity type, date, duration, distance, calories burned, step count)

• Exercise metadata (sets, reps, weight used)

• Completed workout programs (title, type, difficulty, duration, weekly distribution)

• Favorite exercises (stored locally on your device)

2.6 Mood Data

• Daily mood entries (mood type, date and timestamp)

• Mood history and trend data (positive/negative counts, mood variety, consecutive day tracking)

2.7 Achievement and Challenge Data

• Achievement progress and unlock status

• Current and best streak records

• Active and completed challenge records

2.8 Apple Health Data

With your explicit permission, we read the following data from Apple Health:

• Sleep analysis (stages and duration)

• Step count, active energy, exercise duration, stand hours

• Heart rate, resting heart rate

• Body weight

• Basal energy burn

• Walking and running distance

• Workout records

• Dietary data (energy, protein, carbohydrates, fat, fiber)

With your permission, we also write the following data to Apple Health:

• Dietary records (calories, protein, carbohydrates, fat)

• Body weight records

2.9 Usage and Analytics Data

To improve the app experience, we may collect the following data through Firebase Analytics:

• App performance metrics and crash reports

• Feature usage patterns

• Session duration and frequency

This data is collected solely to improve app stability, detect bugs, and understand which features are most valuable to our users. We do not sell this data.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

• Providing and personalizing app features (nutrition tracking, sleep analysis, activity monitoring, mood tracking, workout programs, achievements)

• Generating AI-powered health insights and personalized recommendations

• Displaying your health trends, progress, and reports within the app

• Calculating personalized nutrition targets based on your health profile

• Syncing health data with Apple Health (with your permission)

• Improving app performance, fixing bugs, and enhancing the user experience

• Sending service-related notifications (account verification, security alerts)

We do not use your data for advertising purposes. Hebit contains no advertisements.

4. AI-Powered Features

Hebit uses third-party AI services (OpenAI) to provide personalized health insights and nutritional analysis. When you use AI-powered features:

Meal Scanning and Analysis

• When you scan a meal, the food image is sent to AI services for nutritional analysis

• The AI returns estimated nutritional information (calories, macros, micronutrients, health score)

Health Insights (Optional)

• Optionally, your aggregated health data (sleep summaries, nutrition averages, activity statistics, mood patterns) may be sent to AI services to generate personalized insights from five health perspectives: sleep, nutrition, fitness, mindfulness, and overall wellness

• If you choose to use this feature, your age, gender, and health goals are included for personalization

Important:

• We do not sell or share this data with any company for their own purposes

• Data processed by AI is used solely to generate recommendations for you

• We request that processed data be deleted from AI service providers within 30 days

• We cannot guarantee the internal data processing and retention policies of third-party AI providers; however, we prefer providers with strong privacy commitments

5. Third-Party Services

Hebit integrates with the following third-party services:

• OpenAI

• FatSecret API

• Open Food Facts API

• Firebase

• Sign in with Apple / Google Sign-In

We do not share your personal data with additional third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.

6. Data Storage and Security

• Your data is stored securely using Firebase/Firestore with industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest

• Audio recordings are encrypted and stored in Firebase Storage

• Food images are stored securely in your account

• Authentication is handled through Sign in with Apple and Google Sign-In with secure token management

• We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, modification, or destruction

7. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data.

We may share data on a limited basis only in the following circumstances:

• AI Service Providers: As described in Section 4, to generate personalized recommendations and nutritional analysis

• Nutrition Database Providers: FatSecret and Open Food Facts for nutritional value lookup

• Infrastructure Providers: Firebase/Google Cloud for secure data storage

• Legal Requirements: When required by law, regulation, or valid legal process

• Safety: To protect the rights, safety, or property of our users or the public

8. Your Rights and Data Control

You have full control over your data:

• Access: You can view all your health data, sleep records, nutrition logs, activity history, and mood entries within the app at any time

• Deletion: You can delete your account and all associated data directly from the app settings

• Data Deletion Request: You can also submit a data deletion request via the email address below

• Audio Deletion: You can delete individual sleep audio clips or your entire audio history from within the app

• Apple Health: You can revoke Hebit's access to Apple Health data at any time via device Settings > Privacy & Security > Health

When you delete your account, all your personal data — including health records, meal logs, sleep sessions, audio recordings, activity data, mood entries, achievements, and AI insight cache — is permanently removed from our servers.

9. Children's Privacy

Hebit is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will delete it immediately.

10. Data Retention

• We retain your data for as long as your account is active

• When you delete your account from within the app, all your data is deleted instantly and permanently. If you submit a deletion request through our support team, your data will be permanently removed within 30 days

• We request that data processed by AI service providers be deleted within 30 days

• Anonymized, aggregated analytics data may be retained for product development purposes

11. International Data Transfers

When using AI services or cloud infrastructure (Google Cloud / Firebase), your data may be processed in countries other than your country of residence. We ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place for such transfers in compliance with applicable data protection laws.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or via email. Your continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
